Trieste’s Barcolana is all about sailing.
It’s the largest sailing race in Europe, with over 2500 boats.
Since 1969 the Barcolana has been the regatta for everyone. From huge sailing yachts to small boats, from professional yachtsmen and women to the passionate amateur, the regatta is a celebration of the sea and full of competitive spirit.
The soundtrack of the Barcolana consists of a wide range of free events which takes place during the whole Barcolana party. From 2 to 11 October, Barcolana’s atmosphere fills with music: from jazz to blues and pop music featuring many guest stars, free concerts, performances in the village and in a series of locations linked with the regatta. The 2020 event / race will be held on 11 October.
